Dance has been a very popular and competitive form of performing arts at Vista Del Lago High School. This years Spring Concert theme was ‘TV SHOWS’ and was on May 1-4. Spring Concert is one of Vista Del Lago’s most popular school events and has often sold out.

Many of these dancers had great experiences and some of these hard working dancers had their last experiences with Spring Concert.

Senior Oscar Sevilla-Mendoza said, “ I feel the best part of spring concert was probably being in so many dances and being able to be one of the few boys to be in dance 4 and this being my last year it was a sad night. My biggest accomplishment was getting my technique you know, on spins and pointing my feet and everything but my biggest challenge would have to be flexibility because I’m a guy and I can’t be as flexible as the girls are and it was really difficult and painful but it was all worth it in end.”

There were many dancers that had to say goodbye to their dream of dance and it wasn’t easy for them. Many of them wish they could stay and be in the dance program but there was much they had to balance out with school and their careers.

Senior Charity Palacios said, “This being my last year in dance and everything was really sad the most challenging thing for me was having to say goodbye to my dream of dance and it was sad to say goodbye to a lot of good dancers that I’ve met. I think the best part of spring concert was getting to be in so many dances and having those first night jitters and I loved everything about it.”

For some dancers, it was their first time. They had a great time and hope to be put to the next level of dance and continue doing what they love.

Freshman Danixa Cazarez said, “This was my first spring concert and I thought it was a lot of work but when I saw dance team and dance 3 & 4 and I was blown away from how much commitment they had and how hard they worked. The most challenging thing for me was balancing homework and the dance practices because it took up a lot of time but in the end I was proud of how much improvement I had been through.”
