Most sports programs rise and fall in a long series of turning points. It just so happened this year, many of those points came together at once to make the girls volleyball an exciting and breathtaking season.

There were many accomplishments and and challenges this season that the these hard working volleyball players faced.

“There was a period of time in the season where we lost 3 games back to back and that was really discouraging for me, and me being the team captain I felt I let my team down and I felt I was never going to be able to get my team to win a game again but we got over it.”, said Freshman and team captain of the volleyball team Victoria Tellez.

Although they overcame their challenges they were defeated a couple of times but they pushed through and were victorious.

“Banning was our biggest challenge because they were really good. They played really good and were really competitive.”, said freshman volleyball player Kassandra Lizarraga

Vista Del Lago’s volleyball season went very well for these volleyball players there were losses, wins and great accomplishments.

“My biggest accomplishment was making the team and just being able to play with these athletic, competitive, and hard working volleyball players.”, said freshman volleyball player Kayla Yim.

Although the season is over, the team did accomplish one of its goals, and it was to win their last game against Moreno Valley High School, they won 25-22.

“It was a close call. At the last minute I thought we were going to lose. I almost gave up hope but then our I felt a sudden courage and I just knew we could do it and we were triumphant.”, said freshman volleyball player Kimberly Sevilla

The season may be over but it’s an unforgettable journey for Vista Del Lago volleyball girls.
